Routes to a contract: SKN St. Pölten and Sports Excellence Group

The SKN Excellence Campus is not only training. It is built so that players who convince can take a concrete next step. There are three routes — none of them is guaranteed, all of them are real.

Route 1 · A contract with SKN St. Pölten

SKN St. Pölten, the professional club of St. Pölten and sporting partner of the Campus, is actively looking for young players. A contract with the club is possible via the Campus. The aim is that around four players per season join the club this way. The club decides on sporting merit — the four days, the analysis and the trial match against its first team give it a very close look at every player.

Route 2 · Representation by Sports Excellence Group

Sports Excellence Group is a football agency with a FIFA licence and a partner of SKN St. Pölten. Players who book the Campus have the chance to be taken under contract directly by Sports Excellence Group. The aim is that around ten players per season are signed this way. Being represented by a licensed agency means having someone who knows the market, opens doors to clubs and negotiates contracts — see do I need a football agent.

Route 3 · Further scouts and agents

Beyond these two partners, further scouts from professional clubs and further agents attend the Campus and watch all four days. A player who stands out can therefore also be noticed by clubs and agencies outside the Campus partnership.

What this means — honestly

  • No route is guaranteed: clubs and agencies decide on sporting merit
  • The figures above are targets per season, not promises to an individual player
  • Every participant leaves with an analysis, a video package and a clear picture of where they stand — whatever the outcome
  • For players under 18 the rules on contracts, representation and international transfers of minors apply — see international players and minors
