Guide: is a professional contract guaranteed after a camp or trial?
No. A professional contract is the decision of a club, based on its needs, its budget and the player’s level. No camp, trial or showcase can guarantee it — and offers that do should make you suspicious.
What a good camp can realistically give
- An honest assessment of where you stand — athletically, as a footballer and as a person
- Visibility in front of scouts
- Video material you can use afterwards
- Knowledge about the profession: nutrition, mental training, law and finance
- Clarity about your next step
At the SKN Excellence Campus
The place in the closing trial match against the SKN St. Pölten first team is earned during the four days and is not guaranteed. Scouts from professional clubs watch all four days. There are concrete routes: SKN St. Pölten aims to sign around four players per season via the Campus, and the FIFA-licensed agency Sports Excellence Group around ten — see routes to a contract. These are targets, not promises; the decision always lies with the club or agency.
